David Tennant is a good actor, but he makes some odd choices in some of his performances. Here he is as a villain in Goblet of Fire. 3:07-3:19 Lol why does he pull a kissy face? It could just be the director asking him to ham it up. Goblet of Fire is a very kinetic film, doesn't slow down for a second. No, you're right. It's probably the second best of the series for me.

McDowell's awesome. He was very funny (and the main reason I watched) the short-lived 90s sitcom Pearl where he played an acerbic, conceited professor which is where I first went "he could be a Doctor". Then there's his recurring role in The Mentalist - he's basically a sort of L Ron Hubbard cult leader, possibly a murderer, and ends up one of the main suspects for being the show's mystery recurring serial killer villain Red John. Yet McDowell is so fricking charming and likeable you love him, and it ends up with him and the hero having an odd almost-friends relationship and he goes out kind of vindicated being willing to come out of hiding and help him catch Red John despite still being suspected of being him!

currently watching Twin Peaks and now I would kill for a David Lynch Dr Who episode That would be insane. Imagine Kyle McLachlan as the Doctor lmao. Doesn't seem like Lynch is interested in doing much recently, considering his last film was 2006, or maybe he's just been struggling to get projects off the ground, though I somehow find that unlikely; I doubt he'd struggle to find funding considering he's popular and well-known in the mainstream, plus there are plenty of other "artsy" directors who are still making films that no one particularly rushes out to see like Paul Thomas Anderson, Terrence Malick or even the Coen brothers, and yet who still manage to secure funding on a regular basis. I think just the notion of David Lynch returning to cinema would create a box-office buzz. As far as I'm concerned, he's functionally retired, or maybe he's just completely done with the industry.

Imagine Kyle McLachlan as the Doctor lmao. I'd unironically give him a chance. He'd be very good.

Because he'd throw a wobbler otherwise.

https://www.tiktok.com/@theyliketowatch/video/7350707391530306848 I love the way that questions given to RTD are always "why are you so bloody great." I'd love it if someone asked him "about that NPH guy?" LOL. The sheer ignorance on display here is astonishing. The current head writer of a show purporting to be "Doctor Who" believes that Fenric, Genesis, Inferno, Caves, Remembrance, The Silurians... were about nothing more than "monsters coming through doorways moving right and left". No deeper themes or ideas on offer there. Why was this cretin ever allowed to work on the series at all, let alone run it? His sneering contempt for the source material and the people who created it is palpable in every rancid puff of hot air discharged from his blubberous piehole.

I don't know a story about a man losing his faith due to two world wars, and questioning the horrors his own side have carried out, that were either airbrushed or worse justified as a necessary evil, isn't quite as intelligent and poignant as the Doctor being a cradle robbing hipster giving his 19 year old companion a Frenchie.

New trailer this Sunday, where the episode titles will be revealed.
...Strange that. Shouldn't they have put it on before the Gladiators finale tomorrow?
