JNT has left, Cartmel has buggered off to do Casualty, McCoy and Aldred are still around and you've been told by the BBC that this is going to be the LAST season of the show ever. What are you going to do? Continue and conclude the Cartmel Masterplan? Bring back old foes for one last battle? Or maybe you would prefer to do something totally different.

I don't know if I'd do anything differently to what they had planned. A few good stories, resolving Ace and then that's that. The way they left it was fine. Not bring it to an end, but resolve the immediate story arcs, leave it open for the next generation.
Although having said that if this was me from the future knowing what was going to happen with pisstaker and the Fitzroy self loathers I'd nuke the entire franchise right away LOL.

Assassinate whoever it was at the BBC who made such a dumbf*ck decision, install myself or one of my lackeys as the new BBC Controller, and give the series an expanded budget, more episodes, a better timeslot and promote the shit out of it. But that's just me.  |

If I was in control I would have ended it with The Five Doctors. No, scratch that, I would have ended it with Castrovalva. Maybe Traken. Possibly City of Death. In fact, I'd probably have ended it with The Firemaker . My mistress Mary didn't like the violence in that one.

End it with a Rani Story, only instead of Dimensions In Time it'd be based off either Network or Alixon. Still give it a Survival ending though.

A Gallifrey story to conclude the Masterplan (in an ambiguous way, not like Timeless Children) and to have Ace become a Time Lady. Maybe some mention of what became of Romana and Leela. K-9 joins the Doctor again. The Black Guardian is permanently defeated.
That's pretty much it, because the McCoy era wrapped up all the other loose ends. The Daleks, Cybermen, and the Master got decent sendoffs. UNIT and the Brigadier too.
