Which is better, the finale of Series 3 (Just the episode itself, not the other two that came before it) or Tennant's swansong.
I'm going for Time Lords. Flawed but perfectly watchable. End of Time is a tough one because I've seen it once since transmission while I've seen Time Lords about six times since 2007. I don't think it's the worst regeneration story or anything, but it isn't something I particularly like. The part one cliffhanger is a bit bollocks, really.
Come on, Rushy. You can't back out of writing your End of Time defense essay now!

Very hard to say. Time Lords is undoubtedly worse from a technical level in every way. It's just so f*cking stupid, (the Jesus Doctor) cheesy (Martha's speech) badly acted (John Barrowman's infamous gun acting, Simm's "Miiiisssssss Jooooooonnnnnneeeeessssssssssss") has some atrocious writing ("He never walketh upon the earth") and the production values in terms of the gollum Doctor are utterly laughable too. It's easily a bigger low than the End of Time.
That said, I do agree Time Lords is far more watchable. End of Time is a real slog, and really boring and dreary in points. Also in the long run I think End of Time did more damage as it solidified the idea of the Doctors incarnations as different people too. Finally I think that Time Lords does have some good ideas at the centre of it, like the Toclafane who are inspired, fascinating creation and Lucy turning on and shooting the Master is a great and well deserved fate for the Master, finally pushing one of the people he thinks he can use too far.
End of Time meanwhile doesn't really have any interesting ideas or concepts. It is just by the numbers RTD invasion earth stuff at this stage, with the Master race concept being too silly to take seriously and the Time Lords turn to villainy being a stupid twist that does not gel with what we saw earlier about the Time War and would be promptly ignored in the 50th.
So yeah probably Time Lords that at least has some good ideas, but is technically more shit in a lot of ways too?

You can't back out of writing your End of Time defense essay now! I can because it's 2 Am over here... but to make it short, End of Time has Wilf as a companion (I love the Pertwee era homage of him and the Doctor infiltrating that old-fashioned manor), the best character exploration of the Master on TV, Simm being hee-la-rious (his words, not mine), the camp gold of the Master Race, Timothy Dalton, the revelation that the Time Lords became just as bad as the Daleks (edit: I don't know what you're on about Burrunjor, it ties in very well with all their previous appearances), the cute Vinvocci lady, the spaceship being chased by nukes, the four knocks bit and a really impressive regeneration sequence with Tennant acting his heart out. I especially love his pained struggle as he tries to make it back to the TARDIS through the snow. Bonus points for Smith. Last of the Time Lords on its own is... okay. Definitely not as good as the prior two episodes, but I still really like Simm. And I love the I Can't Decide sequence. But most of it is just the characters sitting around waiting for Martha to show up, which isn't very interesting. And when she does, I don't really understand how the Doctor was able to convey to her his plan to tap into the Master's telepathic network (btw I have no issues with him using humanity's combined psychic force to revitalise himself). Then again, if we count the whole trilogy, I'd still prefer End of Time, because I find it much more entertaining. Utopia is only worth watching for Jacobi and the final act. The rest of it is boring. Sound of Drums - which is indeed very good - has to carry most of the storyline.

I will say that the End of Time was the last regeneration story that felt massive. I honestly can't remember if Time of the Doctor was hyped up to that extent. I know that certainly wasn't the case with Capaldi's final episode.

I think it's less about the hype and more about the execution of those stories.
Parting of the Ways and End of Time were epic-scale blockbusters. Time of the Doctor does aim for that, but it takes place over such a long period of time that it's hard to feel any sense of threat, especially with the Doctor humiliating all his enemies over the course of the montage. You only really care about Handles dying (What a f*cking waste of a potential recurring character btw).
Twice Upon a Time is an epilogue. It's not really a regeneration story. If he had regenerated at the end of The Doctor Falls, I think it'd have felt more impactful.
Power of the Doctor is an idiotic mess, and doesn't set up the Doctor's death at all. It just happens.

You might as well try to choose between Sunak and Starmer. Which for me means: ABSTAIN.
