That sounds like a death knell slot to me. If true, it's over.

That sounds like a death knell slot to me. If true, it's over. I'd say this is a bad sign that Mr Tardis, the show's number 1 shill is getting his excuses in for it being axed. He is blaming Donald Trump. By the way Donald Trump is against Project 2025. He fired and blacklisted one of its main instigators. Be anti Trump, but at least get your facts right.

No, they might think twice about putting money into a show that's clearly seen better days.

Leaving aside the bizarrely comedic script and the drama about the wheelchair, I am glad we got Julian Bleach back to reprise the role. He's still good.

But why would Russell set a Children in Need sketch during one of the heaviest and darkest stories ever made? There's no need for Davros Gate to ever happen. If he'd just written a silly escapade set in a space ship with blue Smurf creatures it would have been fine.

Children in Need 2026 Doctor Who feature:
"The Doctor returns to Androzani Minor and discovers that would-be rapist Sharez Jek and Gunrunner Stotz aren't quite as dead as he thought. Don't worry though, it's funny!"

If he'd just written a silly escapade set in a space ship with blue Smurf creatures it would have been fine. To generate discussion on social media, and also probably because as he and Moff elaborated, they think Classic Who is only being appreciated ironically.

If he'd just written a silly escapade set in a space ship with blue Smurf creatures it would have been fine. And if he wanted to address “issues of disability and otherness”, he could have written his own set of original disabled characters who- for a startling change- weren’t caricatures and sufficed on their own as complex figures. No one ever registered precisely why Davros wasn’t wheelchair-bound in the special until Davies lectured his audience about it, so he demonstrably failed at bringing “disability or otherness” to the “heart of the conversation”.

I'll never get bored of taking the piss out of that ridiculous quote Nor me. That’s why- despite absolutely loathing the thought process behind it- I’m glad Davrosgate exists. It’s the most entertaining thing to happen to Doctor Who in years.
