Moffat reveals that Davros has had his perfectly intact eyes closed the entire time as an excuse to have him quote Darth Vader, then has him start crying. I forgot all about this. Can you possibly imagine either Molloy or Wisher doing this?

Can you possibly imagine either Molloy or Wisher doing this? What was really shit about this was, if I remember rightly, the scene happened right in the middle of the episode. It's almost as if the scriptwriters were just copying something legendary and changing it to confound expectations, which is a Moffat trademark (as well as f*cking things up the longer he goes on).

I guess Osgood's death is pretty high. I want to enjoy it I really do. It's Ingrid's big moment that helped elevate her career, and whilst it's not badly acted it is apallingly written. How the f*ck does Missy manage to teleport her hand cuffs around the room into Osgood's pocket and then suddenly teleport herself ten feet behind Osgood? Also why do none of the guards react when she says "I'M GOIN TAE KILL YA CAUSE AM BANANNA!" and put her lipstick on showing she had got free LOL. The Master might as well have just shot Osgood with laser eye beams. (PS shows you how little Mofftwat knows about the character. That scene with Osgood would have been a perfect opportunity to show off the Masters hypnotic abilities, you know the ones he has had since day one rather than suddenly giving him teleportation powers?) Also John ham it up for all time Simm jumping through the air shouting DINNNNNNNNNEEEEERRRRRR TIIIIIIIMMMMMMME and guzzling chicken and the Master race revelation. Then there is of course the Jesus Doctor, the Scissor sisters dance, him wanting to shag Missy, him asking Bill to borrow her dresses. Haha just got notified of this old post thanks to Mott1. I do regret calling Moff, Moffhack for the record as I think that was unfair to him as a writer, and as a person as he seems like a cool guy on insta (to be fair though he DID call Tom a mad, sad old ham locked safely away in a voice booth in the 90s, so we've all been dicks to people surprisingly who've worked on a shot we loved LOL. I was just carrying on a tradition.) Also Moffhack was such a f*cking lame insult. To be fair though it originated among the mods on Planet Mondas in their smug podcast, and given that is a forum run by c*nts that kind of makes sense. Anyway I do still stand by Osgood's death being badly done, BUT I noticed the other day when watching back some Alti episodes of Xena (for eh research purposes.) That Osgood's death may have been a rip off of Alti torturing Gabrille, Xena's cute side kick to death. Basically Alti's ghost is attacking Xena in her nightmares to try and steal her babies soul. (There's one really freaky scene where Xena has a nightmare where Alti's skeleton, bursts out of her pregnant stomach and eats her!) It turns out that Alti wants to replace the babies soul with her own to be reborn. So Gabrille goes to fight her in the spirit world and she does about as well as Franchot Tone did when he took on that boxer over the actress they were both after LMAO. The way Alti tortures her however is very Missy and Osgood. She even counts down how many seconds she has to live. Of course it could be a coincidence and even if it wasn't, it's not a rip off as everybody takes from everybody, but still I couldn't help but think "I've seen that before". We have the ridiculously over the top, over acted MILF female villain attack the cute, adorkable sidekick to the main hero who she kills in a prolonged way, even counting down how many seconds she has to live! Alti's is done much better though as there is a reason Gabrielle is so useless as it's Alti's home turf, and also at least Alti isn't killing her because she's jealous over how cute she is. (Moffat himself more or less said that btw, that Osgood got offed by the ex.) Oh ignore that click bait title LOL, it's just CPR, which I don't think counts as a kiss unless you're Peter Griffin. I can't imagine how many people saw that title hoping to erect a medieval folk dance in Xena and Gabrielle's honor only to be disappointed. Still I'd love to be in Alti's doghouse. I also wouldn't mind being Xena's little bitch either haha. Quite ironic that my favourite female villain in anything may have partially inspired my least favourite female villain in anything. PS there is also a film where Claire Stansfield/Alti plays a serial killer who is madly in love with Eric Roberts and starts killing lots of women to try and win him round and then tries to kill him. Maybe he took notes on how to terrorise fangirls? Missy and Alti in another life.

I have zero sympathy for Moffat. He's as responsible as anyone for the current state of the show. So what if he was bullied? As much as I condemn the hate campaign waged against him by the woke mob, he's still a grown adult who deserves to be held accountable for the decisions he made in response to it. People with no wealth or power show more courage in the face of actual murderous regimes every single day than this multi-millionaire could muster against a vocal minority of lowlife weirdos calling him nasty names on Twitter and Tumblr. He was entrusted with a piece of cultural heritage that meant a great deal to millions of people and decided of his own free will that protecting his ego was more important than doing his job. He'll even be back later this year to contribute Nc*nti's era.

I have to say I'm surprised that silly song from Ncuti's debut hasn't appeared in this thread yet...

Does anyone else think it's completely ridiculous that the exact same crew, including guest writers, are still on the show 20 years later? Like I don't think a similar phenomenon has ever occurred, even with soaps that go on for years uninterrupted.

He'll even be back later this year to contribute Nc*nti's era. You're not wrong. In fact you're bang on. In some ways I see his cowtowing as even more pathetic now than I did then. Having gotten to know a lot of his feminist critics and having actually listened to their arguments, a lot of them were fair and not abusive. Yes you did get lunatics saying he wanted to promote rape, but a lot of other things they said didn't constitute bullying. Critiques like, don't have the Doctor drool over Clara's arse, don't have him force a kiss on Jenny, don't have him go on about picking up girls, don't keep reusing the same River Song type character, or the same Impossible Girl cliche again and again, don't keep writing the female characters as being unable to resist the bad boy Doctor and Sherlock, (and don't have Sherlock and the Doctor make sexist remarks and dick jokes.) Those were all fine critiques that we made at different points too and he should have taken those on board in the Capaldi era. Taking those on board did not mean however, do absolutely everything your feminist critics say. You shouldn't do absolutely everything that ANY section of the audience wanted, but he went completely down their route because he was so desperate to win that young crowd that he thought they were over. However you could also possibly say Moffat's SJW pandering was actually more cynical and insincere than people give it credit for. He was perhaps a more fly bastard than bullied into it. For instance as I have pointed out before (you may have noticed) Missy is EXACTLY the same character as River Song, Irene Adler and Tasha Lem. All 4 of them have the exact same arc, personality, the actress's performances are all almost identical, hell Michelle Gomez, the chick that played Irene and Tasha Lem's actress even look like each other to some extent, dark hair, sharp pointy features, little bit older, more mature MILF look etc, their relationships with the hero are also completely the same, there are even entire f*cking scenes duplicated with all 4 of them. Now this was one of the things that Moffat was said to be a be sexist for in the 2011-2013 era, that his female characters are all basically the same, because he doesn't bother with women. (Even Amy has shades of this persona too, though not as much.) In fact it got so bad a lot of people assumed that Tasha was meant to be River, but Alex Kingston was just too busy at the time, so they changed her name and that was that. It turns out, no it was never intended to be River, Moff really just was that unoriginal LOL. I don't think this made him sexist, as lots of writers reuse character types to be fair, including both Bob Holmes and Terry Nation.(Not to compare myself to them, but my channel is also named after the three things I enjoy writing about, Divas Dinosaurs and Demons.) However at the same time it is fair to say based on that, he's not particularly good at writing women if all he can do is kind of his own fantasy woman, which isn't that great or empowering a character anyway. Bad girl who falls hopelessly in love with the male hero and has to be redeemed by him? Rather than expand his horizon and maybe not write another Irene/River character, Moffat who was clearly out of ideas at the start of the Capaldi era, just decided to reuse that River character again, but knowing he would NEVER get away with doing it a fourth time from the feminists, decided to make her a gender bent version of the Master. That shut all of his critics up, because now the very same feminists who pointed out his reuse of the same character type, had to praise Missy no matter what because if she wasn't a success then no female Doctor ever, whilst a lot of the middle aged classic fans who'd previously have pointed out how ridiculous River Song was, were too scared of being called old sexists if they attacked the first FEMALE Master and said she wasn't as good as the MALE Masters. It doesn't matter what their reasons were, if they attacked Missy for the same reasons they did Simm and Roberts, being too campy, not in character (both of which she was worse for.) She's the FEMALE Master so that would look like fanboys attacking women for daring to be part of their interests. Pretty much how I see the bulk of classic era middle aged fans on sites like Anoraks who go on about how wonderful Missy was and how she respected the legacy of Delgado whilst having the cheek to say Simm, Roberts and even Ainley all made it a joke. To be honest they look more ridiculous than Skinner. At least he admits "just tell me what to say." With this in mind maybe Moffat wasn't quite so bullied and more just trying to make his work bullet proof, without actually changing or having to take genuine critiques of his work to heart at all? Still having said all that in terms of my opinions on Moffat whilst I stick by my critiques of Missy, I'm more just saying that now that it's been several years on, and I have pretty much divorced New Who from the original completely (even made my own alternate sequel series with professional actors) I can appreciate a lot of the good stuff I like about Moffat's work and even take influence from certain aspects of his work for my own. Also again personally whilst he may have been a bit of a dick in regards to DW, he seems quite a nice affable sort on social media, who hasn't go involved in petty bitch fights like RTD and has even taken his lumps over the show fair and square. (Being the only one man enough not to block me over NPH unlike RTD, Paul Cornell etc.)

Ugh. Yep, total shit. Aside from the obvious overall dreadfulness:-
"President Obama's promised to end the global recession..." f*ck off.
Also, how can you have a black guy called "Ginger"...?
My brother's girlfriend thinks that Simm's portrayal of the Master is "Chilling". When i argued wth her about it, he didn't say a word in her defence... "How can you have a black guy called Ginger?" I've always wondered that. It's very strange.

Why are they eating burgers in some shit-looking wasteland? The clearly deranged man behind them doesn't seem to put them off until it's too late.

"Worst scenes in Nu Who history"
The BBC won't let me upload the entire episode of Space Babies, I'm afraid.
