Are we seriously supposed to be excited by this..?  The same old shit. Take the Derbyshire theme and overdub a symphony orchestra suffering from egregious musical diarrhoea. Gold hasn't learned a new trick in ten years. At least he's in good company... |

I like that they've brought the symphonic bombast back, but it really just sounds like a half-baked version of Matt Smith's first theme, and a lot of the instruments are just sort of, there, not really knowing what to do with themselves. I do expect that the actual theme for the show will be more toned down and less orchestral, as this is a live symphonic performance after all.

Had an absolutely lovely time listening to this with my mom, bless her, she's so excited to see Tennant back.
(EDIT: In case anyone's curious, I've shown her a lot of the show over the years and she likes all the Doctors save for Jodie. Tennant's her firm favourite)

Still f*cks me off that they've never brought out the best version of the theme for TV (Mind you, it saves it being attached to this, sooo.)
