I've started playing the remastered GTA: Vice City game. I played this a lot as a kid and I would say that my interest in 80s music was born from listening to those radio stations when you're driving a car. It's good so far though I've not done much except get chased by the cops and walk into what looked like a gay bar. Maybe one day I'll do the missions.

I've just never been into gaming.

I used to be really into gaming, but I just kind of fell out of the way of it. My systems are all out of date as are my games. It's funny though because it's not like I outgrew it, as I do still play games, but I'm just not interested in keeping up to date with a PS 6, or X-Box 246 or whatever.
My fave game series meanwhile, which are sadly all dead LOL are Destroy All Humans, Fable and Dino Crisis.
DAH is hysterical, though parts of it have NOT aged well. To be fair they were creepy even back then, but I guess people didn't mind it as much for some reason LOL (The Miss Rockwell level and the ending of 2, eeeeessssssh. To be fair they were always meant to be dark comedy, but even then given you play this character it can be very uncomfortable.) Still overall it's fun playing an alien invading earth, and Orthopox is hilarious. The voice actor really gave it his all. My fave entry is the second one as I loved the 60s setting and fighting the Godzilla monster is sadly a lot more engaging than any actual Godzilla game has proven to be. Honestly why are Godzilla games only limited to fighting? I'd love one where you could just play as him smashing up cities or as an army guy trying to get people out of the city.
Fable meanwhile I loved the world it created and the choice between good and evil, though even then I was mostly a good boy, it was still interesting seeing how your choices could change the world. My fave entry is Fable Lost Chapters because it had the most engaging story, and Jack of Blades is one of the best villains in anything. I have never hated a villain and wanted to make him suffer so badly. He makes Alti look like Stacey Solomon and Christopher Lee's Dracula look like, well Stacey Solomon haha. (Or that nice cute woman who hosts the Pirate show, Hey ho swashbucklers go.)
Finally Dino Crisis, well does this need said? Love Dinosaurs and time travel stories. My fave is definitely the second one because it's more action packed, has beautiful landscapes, a kick ass score and plenty of Dinosaur species, including some that had never appeared before. I also am convinced that the second Dino Crisis inspired Primeval.

Playing GTA III at the moment and its fantastic. I remember playing it as a kid, but I don't think I got that far. I must confess, despite being a huge 80s fan, I do prefer playing in the more gritty and subdued Liberty City over the neon-soaked Vice City.

"I know a place at the end of the right light district where we can lay low, but my hands are all messed up, so you better drive brother." LOVED that game back in the day. It was so much fun. My favourite character was that Yakuza babe. God damn she was sexy, or rather her voice was. Also the bit where she was torturing the guy, god damn he was one lucky bastard. (Well until they killed him LOL.) The main female villain was also an absolute hoot too. I hope she survived as she was also sexy as f*ck too.

I bought the Robocop game, just waiting for it to download. Fingers crossed it's gonna be fun. According to the promotional material one enemy types is one of the Prototypes from Robotcop 2.

The Goblet of Fire game for the PS2 was SHIT. I remember getting it thinking it would be another open world Harry Potter game like the other three and being utterly horrified that the gameplay was the complete opposite of that. It's so limited and I think you even had to redo missions in order to advance. There was no chance to run around Hogwarts for hours. What a load of tripe.

I really miss the 2002 stealth game Prisoner of War. Seems like I spent my entire childhood playing it. Stalag Luft was always my favourite camp of the game with Colditz being my absolute least favourite because it was so bloody hard! I completed the game several times but I still have an urge to play it all over again. Unfortunately I no longer have a PS2 and my PC copy stopped working about five years ago. There's probably no chance that it will ever be released again either on disc or digitally, but I still have my cherished memories of wasting away rainy Saturday mornings evading the Germans and plotting my escape.

Isn't it abandonware by now? I read that term earlier when searching the game, but I got confused. I assume there's some sort of legal grey area in regards to downloading it.

"Abandonware is a product, typically software, ignored by its owner and manufacturer, which can no longer be found for sale, and for which no official support is available. Within an intellectual rights contextual background, abandonware is a software sub-case of the general concept of orphan works."
