The user formerly known as The Bowie Doctor. How are you all doing? Renamed myself to "Henshin" - Japanese for "transform". I've been well and, really at peace with this new phase of myself:     I've been going out a lot, getting A TONNE of compliment from women (even straight guys have been like 'good on ya! You look great') along with some phone numbers and hanging out with randoms in bars and tagging along on late nights out. I've actually made new friends. People come up to me and tell me how amazing they think I look. I am not making this up. People are really going out of their way to introduce myself, they get in my path and stop me. It's so weird. But feel great. BUT...there is one bad thing - I was attacked on the weekend at night. I'm ok. Seriously, here's the injury (look at the left knee, you'll see a small mark just around the kneecap):  It was partly my fault as I was alone very late at night in the city. Despite the fact I was keeping to myself, I attracted trouble as, at the very least, I should have been in a well lit populated area. My own stupidity there. But, the worst injury was the little bruise and blood you see on the kneecap. |

Again, the pointlessness of it bemused me just as much as the brazen act shocked me; why stop at a single shove and then run off? They literally didn't stay around to hear my voice, i never spoke.
Weirdos. I'm just glad I didn't collapse in such a way where my head hit a solid object.

Sorry to hear you were attacked. Honestly when I told you to be careful on your coming out post I thought I was perhaps still stuck in the past in assuming that there are arseholes like that around. Still just remember all the nice things people have said. Most people are decent, but one piece of shit can ruin it for decent people.
It doesn't surprise me he ran away though. These people are always cowards. Their idea of a fair fight is one against 7.

No joke, i'm actually going to ask my personal trainer (who is very experienced in this particular area) to incorporate some self-defence training into my routine. I've only ever been attacked three times in my life, but it's still enough to provide a much needed warning. I've wrongly assumed that being quick witted and footed is enough, especially as i've grown older.
Plus, I fancy the idea of being able to fight in tights, a tank and boots.

All three were at night and on all three occasions I was alone - see the stupidity? Except, unlike the previous two times, someone managed to land a blow of sorts. The first time I outran my attacker while the second I was extremely lucky where a group of burly blokes on their guys night out just happened to be approaching. |
