The Long Game I find a massive struggle to sit through. I think I've watched it maybe twice all the way through and still can't really remember much about it.

Probably Fear Her.
I LOVE The Long Game.
LOVE IT.
"Create a climate of fear and it’s easy to keep the borders closed. It’s just a matter of emphasis. The right word in the right broadcast repeated often enough can destabilize an economy, invent an enemy, change a vote."
Remind you of anything?

I think The Long Game is one of the better episodes of Series 1 (possibly because Davies' basic concept for the story was submitted to the BBC in the 1980s, making it, in a sense, almost part of the Classic series era). Plus there's a nice little call out to Kronkburgers (first mentioned in The Iron Legion comic strip in Doctor Who Weekly, 1979). I don't mind Simon Pegg and Tamsin Grieg in TLG, though Eccelston is as awful and awkward as ever, and personally, I would have ditched Rose as well as Adam at the end of the episode.
It's still pretty rubbish though - just not as rubbish as the other rubbish of that dreary first year of NuWho.
The most boring Davies episode? I can't choose between The End Of The World and Fear Her - both are stinkers.

The End of Time. 2plus hours of shameless cringe self-indulgence.

It's been soo long now that I struggle to remember.
I'll say most Doctor Light episodes save Blink, as I recall them boring the piss out of me the most.

The one which immediately jumps to mind for the most boring is probably "Fear Her", not the worst or most offensively bad, but certainly one of the dullest.

I think it also has a few nods towards the DWM strip Dreamers of Death too. I actually don't mind Long Game myself, it's one of the more cheaper looking episodes, looking a bit like a more upmarket McCoy episode, but it at least has a memorable villian in the guise of Simon Pegg and some suspense.

To be honest, it's the low budget that gives the episode its confidence because it places even heavier emphasis on the writing (much like that quote I posted above). In fact, production is so subservient to the writing on The Long Game that it would work just fine as an audio drama. It's a grounded gem.

Though I certainly don't consider The Long Game a gem, I agree that it would make a half decent audio drama - perhaps featuring the 7th Doctor and Ace (but definitely not Eccelston!).

I always got a Dragonfire vibe to it, albeit not as fun.

Dogshit or not, I still think Dragonfire is a lot of fun. And it's certainly not as boring or as dull as 'The Long Game'.

It's the weakest McCoy story for me, but I don't hate it. It introduced Ace so it has some worth.

I'm not keen on Dragonfire myself. It's where the Cartmel incoherence first rears it's incomprehensible head. It has that appalling JNT noncey lolita scene in too. Blerrrgh!
