A place to discuss myths.
One thing that bothers me is the myth that someone who isn't circumcised has poor hygiene down below. It's as if they believe uncut people are unable to wash their privates on regular basis like regular people do. I get a bit OCD about washing myself so I really don't have any hygiene issues especially in the pleasure region.

John Lennon was NOT a wife beater. It's true that he once slapped his first wife when they were teenagers, and felt guilty about it for the rest of his life (often stating he was a wife beater because of it.) However he did not beat either of his wives. His first wife said that he never hit her again, and Yoko said that he never laid a finger on her.
The myth comes from a nasty book, the Lives of John Lennon, which claimed that he beat both of his wives regularly, locked them in bathrooms. In fact it even claims that he tried to kill Yoko!
It's all bullshit and has been debunked by those closest to him, including both of his wives for decades, yet sadly he is still smeared as a wife beating monster to this day.
Also it's not true that he hated his first son Julian. To be fair he wasn't a great dad, but he had Julian Lennon when he was with the Beatles and had a busy schedule touring so he was never home, then he and his first wife had an ugly divorce, so it was hard to reconnect. His second son he had when he was older, his career was in the shitter and he was in a stable marriage, so that's why he was able to be a better dad to him.
He stated in his last interview that was the only reason he was a better dad to his second son, and that he loved both just as much and that he would make it up to Julian. To be fair he was trying to, having reconnected with him in the last few years, but then that lunatic shot him, and poor Julian was left with unresolved issues for his whole life.
It's worth noting that the only other Beatle to have kids during the heyday of Beatlemania, Ringo, was also an absentee dad to his kids too, and only reconnected with them in the 80s (later than when John tried with Julian.) Had Ringo been killed in the 80s, he would be seen as an absentee dad too.
People tend to single Lennon out for bad things they all did to be honest. They were all shitty to their spouses that they were with when they were part of the Beatles. Jane Seymour, Patty Boyd etc. They all cheated on them regularly and left them in shitty break ups, divorces with nothing etc.
I might add as well that Ringo actually WAS a wife beater. To be fair he and his second wife Barbara Bach were more of a Blake and Amy Winehouse, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Sid and Nancy type IE, they were both out of their heads on drugs and booze and both used to kick the shit out of each other when high, as opposed to Ringo abusing her. Still technically he was involved in more violent incidents with his wife than John LOL, yet John is always seen as the wife beating monster.
Incidentally I've always thought that Amber Heard and Johnny Depp were like a Amy and Blake, Ozzy and Sharon, Ringo and Barbara Bach type of situation,IE they BOTH hit and abused each other when drunk, drugged up etc. The difference is that all those other couples did under the toxicity like each other, and all were either able to move on become happy, or split up, or went down together.
With Johnny and Amber I think that they genuinely came to hate each other and she tried to stick the knife in after and use the feminist movement to do that, IE presenting it as a one sided situation, and then he tried to get revenge and use the anti feminist movement to do that "men's domestic abuse charges are never taken seriously" etc.
I can't say for sure, as I'm not an expert on that case, but from what even I've seen they both seem to have been pretty abusive to one another. It's another classic example of the culture wars complicating something.

It's a powerful, nuanced, deep and frightening look at the human condition.

It's also a myth that Tommy Wiseau is human. Seriously from what I've read he does seem to be a vampire. He eats an inhuman amount, drinks weird liquids like boiling water, and never puts on weight. He hasn't aged in 30 years, he is said to have superhuman strength. (The guy playing Mark got bruises from when Tommy grabbed him in that light, pathetic way he does on screen.) He also has a mysterious past, where no one can figure out his date of birth, and he is mysteriously wealthy too. Finally he has the accent and look for it, and an obsession with vampires too. (Johnny was going to be a vampire in the first draft of the room.)

It's a weird excuse for wanting to mutilate boys. I'm not against people having it done, but I've found people (especially Americans) who are absolutely repulsed by the idea of an intact penis probably caused by that myth. Like the saying about apples and doctors, a good wash a day and the dirt keeps away.

Like the saying about apples and doctors, a good wash a day and the dirt keeps away. It needs done sometimes. I had it done when I was 10, because I had too. My foreskin was too thin and when I peed it burned it as a result. Going to the toilet was absolute agony, I screamed the house down. I had to have it circumcised.

That sounds horrific. I've thought about it a few times as an adult, but I'm personally happy the way it is.

I've thought about it a few times as an adult, but I'm personally happy the way it is. It was. I'd had pain there very rarely when I was a kid, but then it got so bad I had to get rushed to the hospital that night and I then had to wait a day before they could do it. I remember the dread of going to the toilet and absolutely screaming the hospital down when I had to go. Like I said sometimes it's not just for aesthetic reasons, but it needs done. I've heard people say they dislike it one way or the other meanwhile. In Seinfeld Elaine said a circumcised penis looked like a Martian to her LOL.
