Been awful for me. It was pleasant at first with my niece, but my mother is seriously ill now. UGH not enjoying it. Will this bastard year just finish already.

That's a shame to hear about your mother. My own mother has a life threatening disease and she's mostly been in bed over Christmas. I do hope you have a nice weekend though with the New Year's celebrations coming up. I often enjoy the 31st more than the 25th for some reason. I haven't hated 2022 and I would argue it has been better for me than 2020 and 2021. I do feel a bit flat at the moment, though. I think I got overexcited before Christmas and now I feel quite tired. |

Might want to make that four. Anyways, I concur. 2020 was alright for the first halve but the second is another story. 2021 was alright but ultimately nothing. And this year, despite having more opportunities to do the things I want, I've found it's left me drained from everything both in my own personal life and the rest of the world and I too dread the next 12 months. I suppose it's mellowed my views on Christmas as whilst I've not been one for festivities in recent years, those 7 days between Christmas Eve and New Years Eve feel like a slow breather before the next lot of bollocks comes hurtling towards us. |
