Caves of Androzani, Resurrection of the Daleks and the Awakening get my votes too. Frontios is good, if not a favourite, whilst I must confess to finding Planet of Fire to be something of a bore, even if it is technically well made.

The first part of Planet of Fire is fine, but the rest of it is tripe. It looks nice for sure, but it's Grimwade's weakest script for the series. On both occasions where I've watched it, I'd completely forgotten the majority of it amidst finishing it. It's not necessarily the worst of its season, but it's easily the most forgettable. There's very little about it from a narrative perspective that stands out as interesting, even if it is technically rather well made.

Resurrection, Caves and The Awakening (which I've grown to enjoy more than some of the others).

21 is okay but it feels like a very uninspired season for the most part. It certainly pales next to 22.
