Although, granted, it is the only modern season to focus on an original villain. I'll give you series 6's story arc is utter and complete shit. It's such a shame because series 5 began the story arc so well, so admittedly series 6 in some ways felt like an even bigger let down. Still I don't think 6 ever felt quite as bad as 1 for me in that the shit stuff in 6 was like bad sci fi, where as the bad stuff in 1 like the Anne Droid, Trinny and Suzannah robots, farting aliens, etc, felt like outright parodies of DW that you'd expect to see on Dead Ringers quite frankly. Also I think 6's highs were better than 1's to be honest, with the possible exception of Dalek. It is the weakest of Matt Smith's run though and far weaker than Tennant's last two seasons and the specials. |

To be fair though some of my fave actors have since done terrible things like Mark Hamill raising money for drones so I guess I can't talk. At least I don't act all holier thon thou though, well most of the time LOL. The season 2 meanwhile finale is easily the best of the RTD finales. I'm personally baffled that you could give the season 1 finale a 9.5 rating? The Anne Droid is as bad as New Who ever got pre Missy. It's literally a parody of the show, and also as I've said before nothing about that story makes sense. Why did the time vortex kill Eccelston instead of Rose when she had it longer? How could an old obsolete type 40 TARDIS wipe out a Dalek fleet, yet they beat the Time Lords? I also think it is the most explicit of RTD's deux machina's by turning Rose into a god. The series 2 finale meanwhile holds together quite well, the alternate universe angle is used in quite an interesting and original way, the twists are geuninely unexpected like the Daleks coming out of the arc (which as a cliffhanger is up there with the best of old who.) Also at least it has the Doctor save the day too. The only heroic thing Eccelston did in his finale was kiss his teenage blonde companion. (Literally LOL. That in itself is a contrived reason for a kiss too btw.) I do concede though that a major point against Doomsday is turning the Cybermen into the Daleks bitch boys. I prefer the Daleks by a country mile, but even I think that was too much so in all fairness I guess I'd give it a 9 or an 8 out of respect for the Cybermen. Shame because they are used brilliantly in the first part. |

I think Elton represents Doctor Who forum obsessives who spend hours talking about it online. Oh God. I'M Elton! As for The Doctor's Daughter, it's just annoying crap. Maybe 0/10 was harsh but I REALLY didn't like it when I watched it the other day. It actually made me angry at how crap it was hence the poor score. |

One change I hated was they got rid of the decent Series 1-3 theme in Voyage of the Damned and replaced it with a charmless "rock" version which lacks the mystery and wonder that the theme is supposed to have. It's crap.

I think Blink and Human Nature are his best, but Manhattan is probably my personal favourite. Even if it's obvious that it's just a Welsh park and a bunch of sets, I truly believe the characters in 1930s New York. It helps so much if you have an imagination and suspend your disbelief. It makes films and shows so much more enjoyable. Even in Superman IV I like to forget the facts and just believe they're in a bustling American metropolis rather than a leisure centre and an Argos in Milton Keynes.
