Series 3. Obviously the other two are complete shit, but even then I don't think Series 3 is the best of a bad bunch. I think it's genuinely good. It's not as unbearably smug as the others and Martha is easily the best RTD companion. The Rose references are annoying, but at least she's not actually in any of the episodes. There isn't an episode that I really hate either. 42 isn't great but it's probably one of Chibnall's better offerings for the program. Even the finale is relatively good despite a flawed (but entertaining) third part. Murray Gold is also at his best here with great themes like "Strange, Strange Creatures" and "Martha's Quest". Lastly, I have a lot of nostalgia for series 3. I can remember where I was and what the weather was like on each broadcast (except Human Nature because I was on holiday). It was so exciting and huge back then. 2007 is probably my favourite year that I've lived in next to 2013.

I agree with three. It's the most balanced of his era.
2 is insufferably egotistical, while 4 was both running out of ideas and had Tennent trying to up his comedy to try and match Tate.

series 4 was glorious, both in-universe and out. Tennant and Tate were on top of the world. It just oozes confidence and charm

Midnight is good and The Sontaran two parter is quite fun, but the rest of it does nothing for me. I've come to the conclusion that it's better than Series 2, though. I still want an apology from the BBC for completely ruining my love for the show back in 2008.

It was the original point I considered stopping and would have done had we not got the announcement of Moffat taking over and a new Doctor coming. And it was the series that got me to join the original The Hive out of gobsmacked disbelief that so many seemed to like such tripe.

Series 3. 4's good episodes are on par with 3's like Midnight, Planet Of The Ood, and the Sontaran two parter but the likes of Partners In Crime, The Doctor's Daughter and Journeys End are somehow an nadir in itself. Partners managed to get me to stop watching the series after the unholy trinity of that, VOTD and Time Turds and it was only in early 2010 during the gap between EOTD and Eleventh Hour that I relented to see what I missed.
Meanwhile, Series 2 is arguably the worst pre-2014 NuWho series and when I found I couldn't distract myself from NuWho's worst elements. I'd hoped that after Series 1's more earthbound, conventional tone had won audiences over that we might get more classic inspired stories and a more accurate Doctor but in turn, it's laziness and smugness put me off as they took Series 1's worst elements and amplified them to maximum effect.

I like the Shakespeare Code. It's not brilliant, but it's certainly better than Unicorn and the Wasp.

At the time I found it remarkable how they managed to take the (relatively minor, at the time) stuff that irked me about series 1 and for some reason decided to make the entire next season out of them.
