I do recall enjoying World Enough and Time when it aired. The Sound of Drums is quite good as well. I think the second part is a massive cock up but that's enough about my sexual feelings for Alexandra Moen. In all seriousness it's a complete mess which is a shame because the latter half of Series 3 is full of such rich and well written stories.

The Master trilogy in series 3. The Master reveal in World is fab but he doesn't really do that much in the second part, it's more of a Cyberman story really.

The End of Time is my second-favourite Doctor Who story of all time. It's ace. I love the Doctor/Wilf relationship, I love 10's misery at regenerating, Simm's Master has a whole emotional arc to him. The camp value of the Master Race cannot be understated. It's an amazing ride.
The Saxon trilogy is fun and also has a lot of great moments between Tennant and Simm.
The series 10 finale is flawed, but entertaining. Simm's Master is written very differently, but I'm happy to see him back regardless. Bill gets a really cool ending. I'm a bit mixed on its original intention as a regeneration story: I feel like it would've been much better than Twice, but at the same time, it would've been too derivative of Time of the Doctor (despite being better than that story as well).
The other Master stories have all been trash.

I'm happy to see more New Who praise here. After all we don't want to become just Gallifrey Base in reverse. Here's hoping if it carries on we get more new who fans. (Claudia Boleyn you're always welcome here.)
Sadly however I can't offer praise to any of the Master stories. He has been by far the most mangled of all the classic era villains in the revival.
The only even decent stories with him are Utopia and The Sound of Drums. Utopia is an absolute classic and ironically the Master had the best initial reappearance of any villain.
Jacobi was excellent in the role and even Simm works well enough in his first two stories. Sadly however that adventure is let down by the awful third part.
The Cyberman two parter in season 10 meanwhile is overall great story too, but it is of course let down by Missy.

"I'm happy to see more New Who praise here" And yet we're known as a "notoriously toxic anti-NuWho forum" None of us hate NuWho outright. I like Series 1 and 3, Ian enjoys the Smith stuff and Rushy and henshin enjoy the RTD era. It may have been very anti NuWho at one point, but it isn't now.

I also based a character off of Freema Agyeman too. To be fair we have kind of been unanimous in slagging off the Jodie era, but then again so has pretty much everyone LOL. I think the problem is that we just aren't sycophants for it.

I watched The Sound of Drums last night and I was shocked by how engaging it was. I have such a soft spot for Series 3. I'm going to watch Time Lords tonight and see if my opinion has changed. It's weird because the first part of the finale story (if we're looking at SOD as part one) is usally the weakest in all of the RTD series except this one which is the other way round.

I agree in the case of Bad Wolf which is far worse than Parting of the Ways. Army of Ghosts and Doomsday however I'd say are equal, whilst with Stolen Earth/Journey's End I'd say that the first part is also better. The Daleks are genuinely scary and menacing in that, it's just the second part where we get Handy, towing the earth and Doctor/Donna shit.

I still dislike it though. I'd argue The End of Time is actually better than Journey's End.

That's like arguing over which coloured dog shit you'd rather eat.
