Yo! Welcome my Bredren to da first of the Second Heats where I have taken all da very bestest voted stories from each poll in the Pertwee years polls and stuck dem in dis here first out of two Second Heats for da 70's decade.

I'm shocked that Planet of the Spiders and Invasion of the Dinosaurs are so high. Both among the absolute worst of all DW stories, not just Pertwee.

I also think the Green Death is horribly overrated too. For me Carnival of Monsters and Frontier in Space shit all over it. Still I should have voted.

That's likely an unpopular opinion from what I've gathered. Why's that? I'm curious. Even leaving NuWho out, that's a bold assessment to make. Leaving aside the crappy Dinosaur effects and the risible CSO in Planet of the Spiders, I rather enjoy both of them. Oh- and I voted for Inferno, Terror of the Autons and The Daemons, although I reckon that all of the stories above are of a high quality. Nearly veered on Day of the Daleks or Time Warrior for my third option. |
