The Howling. Nobody here seems to like it and the YouTubers I watch don't seem to be that big on the film either. It has a rating of 6.5 on IMDB and honestly it should be in the 7s at the very least. I think it's a very good film with a winning combination of scares and humour. Joe Dante adds his own stylistic touches to the film while Pino Donaggio delivers a truly haunting score. The cinematography is great with a nice hazy glow to the picture and the film also has wonderful camerawork. Dee Wallace is lovely in the film although I prefer Belinda Balaski and reckon she should have been the lead. The werewolves look amazing and is really the only time in the entire franchise that they don't look like complete crap. It's a classic in my opinion.

Phantasm. That's a masterpiece that is practically unknown beyond a certain niche.

Well I wouldn't say it is the most underrated, but a recent Sylvester McCoy film called the Owners was really creepy and effective, but for some reason it got an absolute thrashing.
Maisie Williams was good in it too.

You need to watch different YouTubers, Maxil. The Howling is generally regarded as a stone cold classic in the horror community (I'm not even that fond myself).
I'm not sure it's underrated now, but... the original Black Christmas. It was all but forgotten in the 90s and I was astonished by that given how awesome it is, though it does have a much higher reputation today (no doubt due to it being more accessible). I still don't think that normies are aware of it to the same extent they are Halloween and The Exorcist, though, and they should be.

The Ghost and the Darkness, a pretty well made period horror film that reminds you why you should be afraid of lions.
