Having watched every liberal in my country have a collective nervous breakdown between 2015-2019 I dunno. Apparently the prospect of 40 years of Thatcherism ending and some mild social democracy in its place was too much for them. See every blue tick celeb, The Guardian, The New Statesman, the f*cking BBC, every famous comedian, every Lib Dem, most Labour MP's .

Absolutely. Complete fascist enablers, I've currently come to hate Liberals/Moderates/Centrists etc more than I hate the Tories(whom I have a lifetime worth of contempt for), which is some achievement. At least the Tories don't pretend to be anything other than contemptible corrupt bastards. There's little to distinguish Liberals from Neoliberalism considering they are prepared to go all out in order to defend the Neoliberal consensus brought in via Thatcherism. I currently lump the supine spineless Labour Party into that Liberals/Moderates/Centrist bracket and see them as little more than scum too. Oh, i agree completely. But surely, if we conflate Egalitarian Liberalism with so-called Neoliberalism, we are playing directly into the hands of these people. Or are we now to declare that there is no difference between, say, John Maynard Keynes and Keir Starmer..? |

A world where western imperialists were cacking their pants that a Russian revolution was going to be repeated over here. Keynesianism was the upper class making concessions to protect their pampered backsides. Without successful organising by Trade Unions, revolutionary socialists to scare the crap out of liberals, it doesn't happen. And it still kept a corrupt oligarchy in place, and what's been the final destination of that? Security service backed ghouls like Starmer leading the Labour Party, the left crushed, half a century of all powerful capitalist sociopaths crushing all in their path and the existence of the human race in jeopardy.
edit - should add, UncleDeadly is correct that Keynes is the cream of the crop when it comes to liberals. It's just that his legacy is that of a sticking plaster rather than a cure.
