I watched the Awakening earlier and I didn't really like it that much. Black Orchid is fine although not one of my favourites from Season 19. The King Demon's may have a stupid script, but I really like the feel of it. It's got nice production values and it feels like the most authentic historical story of the Davison era. It's a nice little story overall if not that good in terms of quality. King's Demons it is.

Demons is literally the worst of the three. Episode 1 is ok but 2 is just a mess.
I'd go for BO, as I didn't quite like Awakening as much as I normally do on last viewing, but they're both far superior to Demons.

It's a mess I agree, but I've always found it quite easy to sit through. I have a thing for castles, knights, kings and all that so it's right down my street.

Kings Demons is the obvious weak link despite it's excellent production values. It is an non entity with the Master shoehorned in and an wasted opportunity to bring the Monk back.
As for the other two I really like both but Awakening edges it storywise as it's a rare voyage for the Davison era into horror territory but Orchid is a nice return to form for the pure historical. Yet at the same time Awakening suffers from an rushed ending when it warranted at least an extra part whereas Orchid feels nicely wrapped up at the end.

I'd give it to The Awakening probably because of my preference for horror type stories and also I quite like the design of the Malus monster.
Black Orchid is definitely pretty good though so it's not far behind but King's Demons seems easily the least effective of these stories imo.

I went for The Awakening, it's one of Davisons better stories IMO.
Black Orchid is okay, but a bit silly and Kings Demons is a waste of time.

The Awakening is a four-parter awkwardly crammed into two. It's fine, but just feels stuffed to me.
I remember almost nothing about Black Orchid.
The King's Demons was a fun litle runaround. I like Ainley, so I don't mind him turning up. This one is my favourite.
