A fairly good analysis of the story here:

I must confess now that we have to call him Sir Tony, a part of me hopes Meghan really is the evil monster who wants to destroy the Royal Family that the media think she is. (Or rather claim she is to distract idiots from how shitty their lives are.)

I must confess now that we have to call him Sir Tony, a part of me hopes Meghan really is the evil monster who wants to destroy the Royal Family that the media think she is. (Or rather claim she is to distract idiots from how shitty their lives are.) Personally, I never refer to people with knighthoods as "sir". Why would you consciously address some of the biggest wankers in UK political history as "Sir Keir Starmer", "Sir Nick Clegg", "Sir Gavin Williamson" or "Sir Tony Blair"? It suggests unbridled and unquestioning allegiance, much like the title of "Lord Vader" does. Though it's also down to personal preference, given that I'd hate to ever be addressed as "sir" under any circumstances whatsoever. Might be a little late, and I'm not as up to date on this as some, but as for Meghan Markle. As a member of royalty, she's far from the quintessential underdog and has an ego, but if the Sun Newspaper, Piers Morgan and the bulk of the right-wing press obsess over her on embarrassingly jingoistic grounds, I don't feel obliged to stick the boot in. The Royal Family consist of abusive nonces anyway, and she's clearly being used as a scapegoat to distract from this very issue. Which is more worthy of outrage? A figure with admittedly inflated celebrity status who happens to have been selected by UK media oligarchs as their new target, or the fact that said figure is being used via said scapegoating to conceal the mendacious and insidious exploits of people in high positions? This is the same press which condemned Corbyn over the way in which he pronounced Epstein's name, yet continually cover up for the likes of Peter Mandelson (a spearheading influence over Starmer's Labour Party) and Prince Andrew, both of whom were close friends of Epstein. And like you say, destroying the royal family sounds like an enticing prospect at this point.
