Is it at all possible that George has issues with social cues...?
Undoubtedly. Still, this comment seems to think otherwise. Eh? f*ck me. How long did it take to find the positive comment...?

There's only really 3 good ones in my opinion. The first three. Of them I'd rank. A New Hope/ 10/10 Return of the Jedi/ 10/10 The Empire Strikes Back 9/10 I think Empire is a bit overrated to be honest. The reveal is obviously great and admittedly it could never have the same impact on me, as I'd seen it parodied about 1000000000000 times before watching the film. Perhaps if I'd seen it when it was out that would nudge it up a few places. Still looking back at it now, whilst it's a great film undeniably I think it's a bit slower than the first and Peter Cushing's loss is definitely felt. Shouldn't have killed him off. Cushing is really the main villain of the original Star Wars film. Vader almost comes across as one of his lackeys. I think Empire is more involving than the other films in the trilogy. Return is good, but I think visually it's a step down from Empire and we only get one new planet as two of the three visited are from the previous movies. Carrie Fisher is absolutely gorgeous in the film though Yeah, I like the slave bikini outfit... what are you going to do about it, Disney? She looks great on Endor too. Hamill also gives his best performance while on the other hand Harrison Ford gives his worst in the original trilogy. I'll be honest and say that I prefer Octopussy, Jaws 3 and Superman III from the same year over Jedi. It's still up there in the top five of 1983 though.

This is great. I love the Harry Plinkett commentary. You HAVE to see his prequel reviews.

This is great. I love the Harry Plinkett commentary. You HAVE to see his prequel reviews. Yeah, Plinkett's reviews are bloody hilarious. His Phantom Menace review is my favourite of his though. "PUT IT IN THE TEA! PUT IT IN THE TEA!". "No one likes little kids- especially ones who can't act". He's a brutal comic creation. I can't be arsed with RedLetterMedia's "Half in the Bag" series at all now, but the Plinkett stuff is always worth a look for the laughs alone.

Empire Strikes Back Return of the Jedi Revenge of the Sith A New Hope The Clone Wars The Phantom Menace
I must confess I’m rather fond of the prequels, flawed as they are, and the era they take place in. The Clone Wars is a very fascinating time, and the extra material that has been built around it is very good.
Everything from the modern films is just crap, save Rogue One but then I’ve only watched it once. These days the only part off Star Wars that interests me is the Knights of the Old Republic era. The games based on this are amazing.

Everything from the modern films is just crap, save Rogue One but then I’ve only watched it once. These days the only part off Star Wars that interests me is the Knights of the Old Republic era. The games based on this are amazing. Couldn't agree more. Knights of the Old Republic I and II put the entirety of Disney's output to absolute shame, especially the latter. The dialogue, atmosphere, characterisation and narrative hasn't ever been bettered elsewhere in Star Wars, as far as I'm concerned. No derivative narratives, no talking down to one's audience, no facile or juvenile humour. Just a thought-provoking and richly atmospheric narrative that dares to explore morally ambiguous elements of the Star Wars universe. The Last Jedi was described as "bold" when it was released. Bollocks. Knights of the Old Republic II "deconstructed" the series long-before Disney got their hands on the series, but actually did so with a degree of intelligence and maturity, respecting the lore and iconography whilst confronting ideas which the films only occasionally gestured at.

I've sometimes felt guilty about masturbating to Carrie still especially in her slave bikini, but today I found an ENTIRE community dedicated to masturbating to slave bikini Leia on Reddit. www.reddit.com/r/SlaveLeia_fap/I probably won't join it mainly because I don't feel like posting my masturbation habits on a public site. Why would you even do that?

Like Bernard I don't really have any extreme hatred for the prequels except The Phantom Menace which is a bit of a snoozefest. The other two aren't great films, but I grew up with them and to be honest I never really noticed a gulf in quality between those and the original films when I was a kid. I throughly enjoyed the Obi Wan TV series too.

The original trilogy are the only good movies. The prequels are bad, despite what everyone says, with AOTC being particularly horrendous.

Like Bernard I don't really have any extreme hatred for the prequels except The Phantom Menace which is a bit of a snoozefest. I don’t *hate* them, but I’ll clarify again that I consider them to be broadly crap films. The acting and dialogue are largely absolutely appalling, as is the direction (barring the third film, and even that’s imperfect). Where I find it difficult to loathe them relative to the sequel trilogy is that they actually feature an iota of world-building and structure, as developed upon in superior spin-off material. That, and the concept art/musical score has merit (especially John Williams’ music). As such, I wouldn’t write them off entirely. But on a technical level, they are very poorly put together.
