See the title of the thread. According to a Mirror journalist (who accurately predicted the previous three releases), the animations will stop after Abominable Snowmen courtesy of BBC America withdrawing their funding, See this (as taken from Twitter):

Who cares. Bonnie Langford joining The Brilliant World of Tom Gates is far more interesting news!
In all seriousness, I'm sad by this news. I wasn't actually collecting them (I would have bought DMP and The Massacre), but I was happy the DVD range was still going on and that the BBC were breathing life into lost classics. I just don't understand why they would make a decision like this.

The only argument I can think of would be if the stories hadn't sold well, but they seem to consistently sell reasonably well on initial release, so I'm unsure what the issue is...

Having said that, The Mirror did infamously declare that all 108 missing episodes had been recovered back in 2013 (what an obvious load of bollocks that was), so it's probably best to wait until this is officially confirmed, and Britbox *could* fund any future projects if this ends up happening, so I'll remain marginally optimistic as it is...

Someone posted on Reddit that the team behind Galaxy 4 had stated more Hartnell era stuff was coming. So maybe it’s just that bbc American pulled out but they have still got money coming in from somewhere.
If it is the last then the BBC are c*nts but at least Abominable Snowmrn will get animated.

Let's bloody well hope so. My prediction regarding the animating of the Hartnell stories is not something i want to be right about...

My optimistic side is just hoping that the story is bollocks, on the grounds of the Mirror often being shady when it comes to Who news (after all, it IS a tabloid). It'd be a pisser if we never got any animated historicals going forward...

After all, we know from "fan consensus" (Oh, great, bloated Welsh one be praised...!) that the first Doctor isn't "Doctorish" and historicals are boring.
Well, they're certainly welcome to their opinion. God knows i don't want it...

FFS... If it is bollocks, or maybe they've got funding from somewhere else (BBC America is in big trouble, apparently, not least because Whittaker Who has been such a catastrophic flop over there), they need to come out and say it now. What a giant shit show. Can't wait for the all-recon season 3 blu ray collection...

The news has spread on a few classic who facebook groups I'm on. Some people are actually happy about it. One poster claimed the animations were "cheap" and "nasty."

I'm not surprised, some people just won't be happy with anything. Hell I'm will to bet there people who would, if all the missing episodes were miraculously found, want them burned to preserve their mystique or for some PC bullshit reason. What harm were they doing? Taking attention away from the horror show that was current nuwho? God forbid us classic fans have anything to look forward to.
