I saw someone on another forum claiming that Russel has been the only person working on a third series while over at Bad Wolfs most of the existing sets have been dismantled. Sad to say that I think this show will continue to be greenlit for years Will this turd ever be flushed away completely? What makes you think that.

I saw someone on another forum claiming that Russel has been the only person working on a third series while over at Bad Wolfs most of the existing sets have been dismantled. That would be hilarious. The answer is no, rushy, given that the 2005 show was axed after 13 seasons and this is season 1, remember. Only another 26 seasons to beat classic lol... good luck with that.

This era was dead on arrival - before Gatwa even made his debut. To begin with, Davies couldn't get through a five-minute Children in Need special without making it about identitarian virtue-signalling. Davrosgate might have flown under the radar of casual viewers who didn't see his ridiculous interview afterwards, but any chance the show had of regaining its mainstream hit status died 25 minutes into The Star Beast during that abominably cringe scene of Tennant being lectured about pronouns. The "male-presenting Time Lord" and "binary, non-binary" moments towards the end were just additional nails in the coffin.
Davies has utterly failed to notice which way the wind is blowing. It's becoming increasingly evident that you can indulge in this sort of tedious culture war point-scoring or you can attract the mainstream family audience that a show like Doctor Who needs. Viewers have become so tired of identity politics that you can no longer do both. The last couple of years have seen movies, TV shows and games with the wisdom to keep this shit at arm's length rewarded with record-breaking commercial success while major pop culture franchises that should be a license to print money have struggled to break even due to becoming associated with culture war toxicity.
However many more years this shadow of a shadow is allowed to carry on limping into obscurity, its days as an iconic pop culture juggernaut are long gone, and the Fitzroyers have no one to blame but themselves. NuWho will be remembered as a case study in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Very true. I was all for giving the new era a go and even had even subscribed to Disney+ to watch the specials. And then the Children In Need farce erupted and I just noped out, cancelling and deleting the app from my tv. He immediately told me what kind of intellectually vapid crap his new era was going to be, so I believed him. Nothing I have heard or seen since makes me wish I hadn't. If anything I almost want to thank the bloated twat for that nonsense. It at least spared me from suffering through The Star Beast - which apparently was just another example of him shamelessly cribbing from the work of superior creatives only to f*ck it up completely.
