To be fair they're often more expensive when there are fewer of them that will sell. It's the only way to make money back.

6 hours of what is guaranteed to be utterly worthless trash TV on a format that's almost two decades out of date? £39.99.
13 hours of the finest science fiction TV the world has ever seen (TruWho Season 14) on a high-resolution format? £32.99.

And that's only the DVD. Holy shit. I could get a blu-ray box set of classic European arthouse films for less than that, and those are known for being prohibitively expensive

That works out to about £5 an episode.

Er, Russell...we all know that's you. “…4 episodes in Russell’s new era is panning out very well”. 1. No, they aren’t. 2. “ARE” panning out very well. EDIT: I suppose he forgot to put a comma in between ‘in’ and ‘Russell’s’. If so, ‘is’ is correct. But I can’t say for sure, and there’s an error here either way. “Most reasonable people will think that this new series is at least pretty good…” So dissent is only ‘mostly’ unreasonable. If this is Davies, it’s relatively restrained in ego…🤣

What happened to DVDs being £1 a pop? It's no more expensive now to manufacture them (in fact it's probably cheaper), so it's 100% just money-grubbing corps lining their pockets under the guise of "inflation" and pretending we're still in a recession.

What happened to DVDs being £1 a pop? Have they ever been £1 a pop outside of second-hand or discount?

What happened to DVDs being £1 a pop? Have they ever been £1 a pop outside of second-hand or discount? I don't know if that was really the case but the hyperbole still gets across my point imo, which is that these things have been getting more and more expensive over time.

I wouldn't watch this trash if you paid me that.
