It should be a Jimi Hendrix episode if it's about the devils chord, that's the start of Purple Haze

It should be a Jimi Hendrix episode if it's about the devils chord, that's the start of Purple Haze I'm anticipating the Doctor's gonna yap about the tritone being the devil's interval and banned by the church when there is no record of that ever being the case; it's quite an essential interval even in basic chord progressions that will have been widely used in the middle ages and Renaissance.

Remembrance had Beatles songs, though? Wasn't it just the music? I remember reading that The Prisoner is the only show they ever licensed a full song to.

The newest releases of the Prisoner contain the Beatles songs, when I believe the songs that were licensed to Doctor Who were stripped? I could be wrong though

There was one on the jukebox in the cafe in Remembrance. I think it was changed for the first DVD release but restored for the special edition IIRC.

Don't forget The Chase. They were originally going to be in it.
Oh did anyone see that incredibly inappropriate story that Jon Blum's wife, what's her name again, Kate Orman? Wrote about John Lennon? f*ck me how was that published.

It should be a Jimi Hendrix episode if it's about the devils chord, that's the start of Purple Haze Jimi Hendrix also apparently met aliens too. If mad conspiracy theories online are to be believed LOL. It was apparently an alien with yellow skin, and lemon shaped bald head. It also contacted him telepathically in the snow but didn't abduct him. Incidentally John Lennon also saw a UFO in New York. I've always loved that story. Unlike the Hendrix one, it was actually something Lennon and his lover at the time May Pang always insisted happened. It was here that the infamous "John Lennon sighting of the UFO" happened. The story is told that John Lennon was standing naked on the terrace (while May was in the shower) and had noticed a UFO hovering above. He then started to yell for May and she came running out to find out what was going on. May had seen it also.
John also had spoken to Bob Gruen (a photographer for Lennon at that time) and explained what he had saw. Gruen had asked him if he had notified the police. John's response was "What am I going to do, call the police and say, 'Hi, its John Lennon and I've just seen a UFO over New York...' They'll think, 'What is he on now?'"
Bob then called the NYPD and told them who he was and about the incident and the response from the phone was "Where did you see it? On 52nd street? You're the third call we have received about this." In the Record of U.F.O. Sightings, over 400 people called about that particular sighting. John took some photos and asked Bob to develop them, but they came out blank.Do the Beatles have an audience on other planets, and these greys had just stopped to try and get Lennon's autograph, but were too shy at the last minute? PS finding out what happened to this UFO would have been a better way of getting Lennon into the show to be honest. It wouldn't be about him, it would just be the lead in to an alien story set in 70s New York.

No. I'd go back to Hamburg to see them, and say: "Stay here. Don't go back to England, it's crap. Or alternatively, there's a scene brewing in Outer Mongolia. The pay is absolutely fantastic. Honest."
Also, the so called "Devil's Chord" (Diminished chord) goes all the way back to the middle ages. It was basically forbidden to use it. Although there are tales of a singing black knight called Sir Oswald Osborne, frequently flouting this rule. 😛

Like I said before, it's instrumental in basic chord progressions.

Yes, strictly speaking the tritone (we used to call it the flattened 5th, or diminished fifth) is not a chord, but it is integral to the diminished chord. As for it being 'forbidden', again perhaps not by strict definition, but the second paragraph here, explains what I was getting at: www.classicfm.com/discover-music/music-theory/what-is-a-tritone/

The plot of this ep seems to have been ripped off not just from the film Yesteryear but also the BF 5th Doctor story Fanfare for the Common Men, from about 10 years ago. RTD the bastion of new ideas as ever.
