It's the best it's looked but it's not 4K HDR or anything. Even the 1080i versions are just upscales because there is nothing to remaster, just 576i PAL files on someone's computer. The interlacing artefacts can be a problem with some of the effects shots in particular. AI would need to come a long way for any real improvement of picture quality.

I bought Series 5 on Blu ray yesterday.
Now I have:
Series 1 (DVD) Series 3 (Blu ray) Series 5 (Blu ray) Day of the Doctor (DVD) Power of the Doctor (Blu ray)
I think that will do me.

Found this in a charity shop today. I thought it would be alright for my Earl Grey teabags. But imagine my horror when I realised I'd bought a NuWho item....

In 2013 I went on a bit of a spree for New Who DVDS. That was the time I was most okay with New Who. Whilst there were worries that they would cast a female Doctor (which in hindsight proved to be correct.) I had really enjoyed Matt and with Peter announced I thought "well maybe this will go back to being proper who, with the Tennant stuff just being teething pains" and I started to embrace all of it.
So yeah I bought all the Tennant years and the Eccelston one and Matt's first two series. It was a great time, then Capaldi's first year happened LOL.

I don't feel like I need to own the majority of NuWho like I do with the classic series. When it comes to the RTD era I only own what I consider to be the essentials: Series 1 and Series 3. I also have Waters of Mars on a Blu ray compilation.

I do have about an hour of NuWho music on CD. It has all the best tracks from the RTD era (a lot of them from Series 3) like Strange, Strange Creatures, Martha's Theme and the Gallifrey theme. It also has some of the Master music from The End of Time which is pretty good.
I've had that 50th Anniversary music collection for ages. It's probably the best set when it comes to Doctor Who music. There's at least half an hour of music from each Classic Doctor era.

I quite like the look of those pots. Those 3 pots are Blue Willow. Very old-fashioned by today's standards. The sort of thing your great-grandma would've had. lol The original pattern goes back to the 1700s, but it's still made today, and it's not expensive. thebrooklynteacup.com/blogs/blog/blue-willow-china-pattern

I have series 1-4 on DVD, plus the 2008-10 specials. I'm likely to get the 2023 specials at some point too. Of Matt's run, I have a DVD with all his Christmas specials. From Capaldi, I only have Twice Upon a Time. I have a Tenth Doctor sonic screwdriver prop. Quite a few books: Feast of the Drowned, The Stone Rose, Touched by an Angel, Dead of Winter, The Silurian Gift, Prisoner of the Daleks, Made of Steel, The Deviant Strain. Used to have Code of the Krillitanes as well, but I gave it away as a Christmas special to a girl who I knew liked Doctor Who. Never went anywhere. But to be honest, it wasn't a very good book either, so no big loss. Also, the Day of the Doctor novelisation, which still gives me PTSD. Did you get the 2023 specials in the end?

I have zilch from the Capaldi era. I have a rule that I have to like at least six episodes from a NuWho series in order to own it. Obviously I don't own much lol

No. I'm still not opposed to purchasing them whenever I have spare cash, but it's not a major priority. Recently I splurged a lot to get every Red Dwarf season. And I've also been buying more books. I'm now reading the Lord of the Rings in its original English text. I find myself very impressed by how concise Tolkien's prose is. I expected it to be a lot more 'old-timey', the way George R. R. Martin writes.

The Giggle by James Goss. Looks quite a fun, interesting novel with a zany retelling of events from the Toymaker himself. I flicked through it earlier and read Mel telling Donna about the regeneration in Time and the Rani and how she missed it because she was "unconscious." It was supposed to be in the episode itself, but it got cut. There's also some funny references throughout the book including one about Dodo being able to do "all the accents" like the Toymaker (a nod to the fact that her accent changed between stories).
