Doctor Who expert is something I wouldn't feel comfortable telling people these days. I can barely tell them I'm a fan without looking down at the floor in utter embarrassment and shame. Same and speaking as someone who became a fan in the 90s that is the first time I've ever felt that.

Same and speaking as someone who became a fan in the 90s that is the first time I've ever felt that. I also do it because I don't want to attract another fan who ends up being a MrTardis type. I don't need toxic people like that in my life.

I just talk about Blake's 7 instead, but no one has a clue what that is In real life I've met a Blake's 7 fan. He showed me his autograph collection and we discussed the show over dinner. He even said he liked it more than Doctor Who. The fans on the Blake's 7 forum (which I'm a member but haven't logged in for several years) are absolutely terrific too. Always made me feel welcome and there was little to no arguing on there. I always enjoyed taking part in the watchalongs as well.

I'd rather be thought of as a horror movie fan these days...

Okay, I was a bit late viewing this one, yes the opening bit was gash, but the main episode wasn't too bad for Fathead even if the resolution didn't make too much f*cking sense
It had intrigue and suspense, which are rare commodities for a Fathead script, but it also had a dumb as f*ck moronic start and an incomprehensible conclusion which are sadly normal fare for Fathead.
I'd give it a 6 or 7 out of 10 which is being generous.
As others have remarked, it hardly felt like something for an anniversary celebration for a 60 year old programme, more like a left over from Series 4.
Disappointing that an updated wirrn didn't appear as first rumoured, but then again that might have disasterously pleased older fans of the series, and we can't have anything remotely doing that.
I quite liked the premise of the shapeshifting cloning aliens even if they weren't sufficiently explained. Wouldn't be at all surprised if this had been a Moffat first draft from series 4, never used and which Fathead half inched.

My big three are vampires and the supernatural, crazy 00s era female singers and Dinosaurs anyway. I mean obviously I loved Classic Who and even New Who from 2007-2013 (even if that period is tainted knowing where it ends up.) Still yeah the other three are the ones I never shut up about the most LOL. Still again I was never ashamed to admit that I liked DW until recently. Now to be honest I'd worry people thought I was in a cult, as that's what the show's fandom is seen as.

The guy who played Newton (Nathaniel Curtis) also starred in It's A Sin and is close with RTD. That sordid circle of chums are always sucking each other off on social media and being all self-congratulatory, including Ben Cook who made a few tweets about how "fabulous" the whole affair was. It's all just an excuse for RTD and his gravy train to mess about at this point.

At least "fathead" isn't as offensive as using a derogatory term for people with down's to describe fans that didn't like his work.

Maybe he was just trying to educate us about ancient Chinese history: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ming%E2%80%93Mong_Mao_War_(1386%E2%80%931388)

I doubt he has much interest in history pre the era of reality TV.

I doubt he has much interest in history pre the era of reality TV. The man's basically a relic himself, he just oozes Heat magazine, celebrity gossip, boombox, MP3 player, X-Factor, plastic hair dryer type vibes.

I predicted he was going to be woefully out of touch and he seems to have proved me right already. It's not the 2000s anymore, Rusty.
