Never seen it. Not saying he can't write women, or that he is a Jeremy Clarkson style misogynist or anything LOL, but honestly I think that he and a lot of the other Fitzroy Crowd do have some issues, again probably more from their generation and the bubble they grew up in that anything else, that have led to them overcompensating in DW when it comes to insulting men and building women up. |

I still can't believe you've never seen Press Gang.  One of my fave shows ever and it's still the first thing that springs to mind for Moffat, not crappy old New Poo.  |

None of them are good, but ranking them worst to best based on the average quality of episodes. I would argue every NuWho season finale is terrible, so they bring down their series equally to me. Have not watched the Chibnall era other than 2 episodes so wont rank those.

Why all the hate for Series 8? If you are a classic fan I find it hard to see how this would not be the best season of the lot. Its vastly better than Series 1 and Series 2. The 12th Doctor in this series is far better than Binman, Tennich, and what the war Doctor was supposed to be. I am not exactly married to the order I gave above completely. But what I am 100% sure on is Series 1 and 2 are the worst of the lot and Series 8 is the best.

Why all the hate for Series 8? If you are a classic fan I find it hard to see how this would not be the best season of the lot. Its vastly better than Series 1 and Series 2. The 12th Doctor in this series is far better than Binman, Tennich, and what the war Doctor was supposed to be. I am not exactly married to the order I gave above completely. But what I am 100% sure on is Series 1 and 2 are the worst of the lot and Series 8 is the best. 8 contains some of the worst individual episodes put to screen, but also some great ones and has an interesting character arc and general tone. In other words it's a very mixed bag. 9 on the other hand is much more consistent but doesn't have the highs (or the lows) that 8 does, however the arc and how it "resolves" is utterly useless and did a lot to convince me that Moffat was just an incompetent writer who wasn't that interested in the show anymore. Thus I'd rank 9 lower than 8 but some of 8's entries are truly shocking and indicative of just how clueless that creative team could be. |

If it wasn't for End of the World, Aliens of London/WW3, The Long Game, Boomtown, most of Rose, Father's Day and Bad Wolf, bits of Unquiet Dead, Dalek, Empty Child/Doctor Dances, Parting of the Ways, and the entire existence of Captain Jack, I'd say Series 1 was the best one. 😆
The other NuWho seasons are even more compromised, except for possibly S5, which has arguably the best NuWho story, and the best NuWho Doctor, but the endless Amy/Rory soap opera romance drivel is both tedious and annoying, and ultimately like Series 1, all of the episodes, even the good ones, are compromised by shit writing.
Similarly, S3 is the least annoying Tennant season on the whole, but mainly because the Doctor isn't in Blink much, nor in Human Nature, because Tennant is busy playing John Smith.
But the on the other hand, there's that awful finale.
So yeah, it's impossible to pick a consistently good, or even reasonable season, because there just isn't one.
After Series 5, most of it is a blur of meh to me anyway. The only stories that stand out, do so for all the wrong reasons.

After my recent rewatch of Series 4 the whole thing has changed.

Series 4 (I'm currently loving this on rewatch. Partners, Midnight, Turn Left and Stolen Earth are very good)

Season 1 (Because I love Legend and The Devil's Chord more than anything in Series 5)
