Russel has ruined the search results for the show. Finding doctor who content on youtube will now be impossible because videos from news/politics channels, and videos from those anti woke media channels will clog up the search results. Want to find a fan animation? Or find a interesting video on doctor who history? Want to find some fan theories? Want to find anything related to classic who? Good luck!


Went through the results for one minute on a fresh tab (no account) about two minute of scrolling down its all either tennich 2.0, a handful of Ncuti videos, one jodie video, two Smith videos, and some Davros videos. I also tried this a few days ago for a few minutes and literally no videos came up for any non NuWho doctor other than 2 first doctor videos (Celestial Toymaker clips). Search results were already ruined. All you ever get is 99% new who stuff even when you specifically search for the classic show. I searched for Underwater Menace yesterday and still ended up with 90% New Poo related crap I have no interest in. The garbage is subsuming the real program, it's really depressing.

This Davros thing still irks me. Yes, it is important to Davros' character that he is disabled. He is a broken man who creates broken creatures in his own image in order to get a leg up on the universe that wronged him so terribly. The Daleks are the embodiment of his incapacity, both physical and emotional, disabled and stunted creatures with little ability for anything beyond lashing out and screaming at anyone who stands in their way, but at least they have sleek travel machines to get around in, right? They are not an invention, but a degradation, committed by a man driven mad at being imprisoned in his own body; and so he imprisons his fellow men within mobile metal caskets. A testament, don't you think, to one man's vanity project, that an entire race and its history is hobbled and stunted in the image of a crippled man-child. In this way the Daleks really are pathetic.

Davies understands none of this, none of the nuance or the subtlety that was laid down almost 50 years ago. The fact is, every bit of Davros' character revolves around his disability, and it's not about whether that's "right" or "wrong", it's about whether that makes for a compelling character, which it certainly does in my mind. The morality is shady and mired in all sorts of sketchy subject-matters, but that's the very thing that makes it interesting. It's the sort of thing that could get Doctor Who out of its "baby's show" rut it's been stuck in since arguably the Smith era. Everyone who approved this change is an idiot and has no business working on the show, simple as that.
