Once again, remember my good pur pur pur pals, it's the worst 3 stories which you are voting upon here and you have three votes! Oh my, what fun we're having here with these pur pur pur pur polls, although pur pur pur pur posting these up is very hungry work! I'm now feeling a bit pur pur pur pur peckish and want a pur pur pur pizza!

Fear Her. Even as a seven year old I thought it was bollocks.

I hate to be a normie, but is anyone really going to argue that Love & Monsters has aged gracefully or revealed itself as an unearthed gem?

I actually prefer this series to the first one overall, but the stinkers here are probably worse.
The Christmas Invasion is boring, New Earth manages to be both dreary and miserable and mind numbingly stupid and camp at the same time. Love and Monsters well, again as our good friend Henshin has argued. Is anyone going to stick up for it?
Not only is it stupid and boring and absurd, but it's also a mean spirited jab at Ian Levine. Okay Levine is a bit of a village idiot at times with his legendary CAPS LOCK tweets, but at the end of the day he is someone who has helped save an entire era of Doctor Who for future generations. To insult him in such an awful way in the show he loves so much is really, really nasty.
Added to that the jokes themselves seem uncharacteristically nasty for RTD. It's basically just "HAHAHAHAHA IAN LEVINE IS A BIG FAT GUY."
Also the Abzorbaloff's role in taking over a fandom that was previously quite fun and making it all about his agenda is ironically a better fit for RTD's pals like Paul Cornell and Chris Chibnall than it ever was for Levine who at most crowbarred in a few pointless references to the past.

I hate to be a normie, but is anyone really going to argue that Love & Monsters has aged gracefully or revealed itself as an unearthed gem? Bizarrely, it does actually seem more well-liked these days in NuWho fan circles than it once was. Bugger knows why. As for me, I opted for New Earth, Love and Monsters and Fear Her. All essentially void of any redeeming qualities whatsoever. The latter being utterly dull, vapid, uninspired and sleep-inducing, accompanied with some truly dire performances and direction, with the monotony of the council estate setting and maudlin nature of Murray Gold's music accompanied with the bizarre use of dutch angles as a means of evoking "tension" creating an incontinent and utterly ineffectual atmosphere that often comes across as a poor student film project as opposed to an accomplished 2006 TV production. Whilst the former two are about as smug, parodic and self-absorbed as it possibly gets; New Earth being particularly egregious in its appalling double act of Tennant and Piper playing "body swap" comedy laden with dick jokes, and Love and Monsters proving egregious in its pathetic use of postmodern irony, being left in the dust by The Greatest Show in the Galaxy as an intelligent commentary on the nature of the series in general. The McCoy outing sprinkled its meta-narratives with surreality and atmosphere- Love and Monsters has Peter Kay in a rubber suit, and Jackie Tyler insightfully warbling on about her knickers. And to think JNT's Who was considered a "joke" at the time. Bloody hell.

I also think this was the season that showed the show wasn't just crude but it lacked any imagination too. Tennant is no less chavvy or crass than his companion and all those animal hybrids and sneers at past eras started here.
The 1st season had innumerable flaws but at least there was some sense of wonder.

Difficult already to choose just three, but: Fear Her/New Earth/Girl in the Fireplace
As poor as Love and Monsters is, it does have the redeeming factor of Tennant not being in it so much. Meanwhile, tGitF is utter emo-wank/big girls blouse doggerel.

New Earth (the first one I really out and out HATED, and then the shock of seeing the endless 10/10 glowing reviews on OG, the first point I started to realise that fandom was changing and not for the better), and the two Cybusmen crapolas. But there's plenty of shit to choose from here.

Don't any of you guys like Billie pur pur pur pur Piper? She's my favourite! I like Billie. She looks like pur pur pur pur Paloma Faith. Series 2 is pur pur pur Pipers worst year however. The smugness of her and Tennant is on a par par par par with Clara and the Hive elite.
