As it happens, I've had some interesting news about the 60th by my old mate and 100% reliable source Roger K Barrett. (Mind you, I'm still waiting for the f*cker to deliver my copy of Tenth Planet 4) View AttachmentBest ever. Bonkers. Genius.- Russell T Davies circa 2005 Ian Levine freaking out over that and clenching his fists even as a child always made me laugh. Ian is far more entertaining than the show has been for years PHUCK YOUUUUU

It was funny a few years back I was on a comics forum and his name came up and I thought "maybe here Ian's a bit more mellow, IE in this fandom they think he's just a cool guy and this is a hobby that's brought him less grief." Nope LOL, if anything he's even more polarizing and there have been even more hilarious tantrums and feuds and enemies he's made there.

I don't dislike him really. Fans belittle him then go on to wax lyrical about "The Daleks," something they wouldn't even have the pleasure of watching if he didn't save it.

I think he's a massive Jazz fan as well. I don't dislike him really. Fans belittle him then go on to wax lyrical about "The Daleks," something they wouldn't even have the pleasure of watching if he didn't save it. It;s northern soul he's not only interested in, but had his main success in as a producer. I don't dislike Ian at all. I've always got along really well with him. He complimented me on my analysis of what was wrong with the show now, and he even told me personally in a chat that he is related to Amy Winehouse! Distantly so. It's through all the family tree stuff he's done. He's related to quite a few famous people that way including Gal Gadot too! Honesty Ian's a fascinating guy. His love for DW and DC alone are incredible. He's saved dozens of classic stories, and gathered the greatest collection of DC comics of all time, which proved vital for the company when researching their own history! His dedication to preserving these important pieces of culture is truly admirable and the stories he can tell about finding all these lost treasure troves, and being part of the fandom, and seeing these cultural icons like Batman and DW grow over the years always make interviews with him brilliant. I love the way he gets so obsessed with things whether it's his family history, or DW that he just has to know all of it. Also he does have a generous side. Not only as seen in his interactions with me a young DW fan who he was generous with his time too, but he also supported one of my friends who was ill with cancer recently, appearing on his podcast, and supporting a charity important to him, and relating stories of his own battles with cancer and sepsis and having a stroke (I will say I admire the way after having been through all of that he still has such an unfazed love for DW and life in general. He gave my friend really good advice that way on how to deal with being ill.) There are also other stories of him in the DC fandom donating rare comics to other collectors too. Still he definitely is a diva in a lot of ways. I will say I've always got on with him, but I've rarely disagreed with him on things. If I did who knows LOL. Also I think he can be easy for trolls to wind up online and when he gets angry oh dear god! I guess that's what comes out of being so passionate about these things though. The good side is it means he becomes obsessed with seeing it completely, the bad side is that he goes into insane blow outs and tantrums over silly fandom drama. (Not that I'm throwing stones mind you as the recent drama with Anoraks and Caprona shows LOL.I guess I can relate a bit to Ian there.) Still he definitely has gone too far in some of his rants, but either way like I said I find them entertaining LOL like his "My precious trust rant." I wonder if a life time of watching DW and reading DC caused him to unintentionally talk like a supervilllain from one of those stories LOL. Oh BTW you might be interested Maxil, Ian says he has a 4 part full length cut of Dimensions in Time (which he says makes sense.) And he also has a version of Downtime with the 7th Doctor that is extended and split into four parts. The extra parts have McCoy as the Doctor in character (this was filmed in the 90s.) Being captured by the GI and the two playing a game where in they manipulate people in the real world like pieces on a chess board, and we cut back to them throughout it as it moves on ahead. It even has the McCoy intro and closing themes. He plans to release it on a wilderness years boxset, but needs to clean up the rights. I hope it sees the light of day personally. Would be cool to see another McCoy tv story.

I've had a number of interactions with Ian on various forums. Never had a problem with him myself.

I'd love to see Tennant help Sophie Scholl and the White Rose Movement personally. Knowing RTD though he'd probably make her a thicko who falls instantly in love with him.

She certainly would be a noteworthy figure to do an episode on. If done well it could be a very dark and poignant historical. It would have to have 0 supernatural or sci fi elements however, like an old fashioned Hartnell story that took us deep into Nazi Germany. Would be an exceptionally difficult story to pull off, far beyond most writers and certainly the Fitzroy clique who have never done subtle well. Can you imagine Chibnall doing an episode about her with Jodie. Oh dear god it doesn't even bare thinking about.

Those darker Hartnell historicals were really quite powerful. Even The Myth Makers, which is mostly played for laughs, has an emotional ending. Sadly I think people would complain about there being no monsters if done again, but one would say the monster in a story like that would be the fascists.

In all sincerity, I'd like to see the Doctor and Susan reunite properly as was rumoured (idgaf about what Big Finish did).
I'd like to see Tennant play the part with more gravitas and age, reflecting that the character is in a very different place from the Tenth Doctor era.
Donna reflecting on the differences between 10 and 14.
And most of all, I just want a fun and eccentric Tennant adventure in the style I remember from the original RTD era.

Some fun callbacks to previous eras. Especially a reunion between the Doctor and Susan (hopefully ignoring the audios)
Episodes that feel like series 4.
Tennant's performance reflecting the fact that he's playing a much older Doctor who is thousands of years removed from his adventures with Donna.
Some great Wilf moments.

To give it a positive hope, regardless of the actor playing him, please do the Toymaker justice.

An episode that feels like End of Time would be fantastic, but it's unwise to hope for that level of quality. After all, most Doctor Who stories can't reach it. Certainly not the likes of City of Death.
