6 or 7. It's goofy fun. The villains are the highlight, and Alfred's illness subplot is surprisingly emotional.

While that's a bit like the pot calling the kettle black, Yak, I have to concur on this one. Why isn't there a 0 rating? I actually made the mistake of picking this up on Blu the other year, having not seen it since the cinema. And like the one before it, it absolutely reeks.

"And like the one before it, it absolutely reeks." I'll accept what you say about B&R but Forever is extremely underrated. The problem was that a lot of the more serious and interesting moments were cut in favour of making it more like the popcorn flick it eventually became. People tend to lump it in with B&R, but there's actually a difference in quality between the two and Forever does more justice to the character in terms of the battle he has with duality in the film. The actor who played Robin in both films said this: "With Forever it felt like we were making a movie. With Batman & Robin it felt like we were making a toy commercial." Both are exceptional pieces of eye candy I have to say. Very beautiful people photographed in very beautiful surroundings. It's a bit shallow, but I've always been quite a visual person.

Yak is correct. City of Death is bad. It's not nearly as witty as it thinks.
But Batman & Robin knows exactly what it is, and just has fun with that.

Batman and Robin would probably make more money if released today. It's exactly the kind of blockbuster camp you associate with Marvel cinema.

I'd probably give it an 8 these days. I watched it a few weeks back and was surprised how beautifully constructed it was. Visually it is a masterpiece, a nice piece of cinematic eye candy that oozes sexiness. Joel Schumacher is a person I really love (as much as I can love a man) because he really understands how to make an appealing and entertaining film for everyone. Despite being a gay man, he gracefully shoots women in a way that makes them look elegant and sexy. Unlike RTD, who thinks his entire audience is middle aged gay men, Joel's work appeals to everyone with working sexual organs. The film has so much rubber and butt action as well as Ivy being a complete temptress that I'm honestly surprised many people don't cite this film as their sexual awakening. People call these movies homoerotic as an insult, but I've never had a problem with that at all. It is a beautiful work of sexual expressionism.
