I find it funny that there's an odd parallel between the Doctor and the boys from the dwarf. Yes he's smarter and more competent, but like them he's a social outcaste amongst his own kind, finding his true potential traveling the universe. Lister, Rimmer, Kryton and event Cat to a lesser extent, have all become so much more then they would have been because of their travels. It's oddly inspiring. Agreed, that's why I LOVED the end of the Promised Land when Rimmer became god to the cat people. You obviously can't have too many heroic Rimmer moments, but the few they have are just wonderful to watch.

Just realised I haven't given my list.
Well it goes.
10/ The Promised Land.
Loved seeing more of the Cat people, and Rimmer's big hero moment is brilliant as is the moment where Lister gives him a reason to go on. Shows you that for all the rip on each other, they do care somewhat and Lister is such a decent guy he'll help even the prick that annoys him all the time when he is feeling low.
9/ The last episode of series 10. I can't remember its name right now, but Rimmer saving them from the Simulants again is a classic moment.
8/ The Inquisitore
Jack Docherty is a candidate for the best guest villain they ever had. Calm, menacing, yet funny at certain points. It managed to be exciting, funny, scary and at the same time quite an interesting insight into all four characters, showing how far they'd all come from just stereotypes of the slobby working class guy, the uptight prissy guy etc.
7/ Polymorph
First attempt at doing a proper sci fi adventure story and it didn't disappoint. The Polymorph is a great idea, well rendered and again much like Inquisitore it's an interest character piece in some ways. Jenny mutant has to be my fave stupid Cat moment. I love the way he never questions where this woman has suddenly come from LMAO. Even Jenny mutant rolls her eyes at how stupid he is.
6/ Legion
A brilliant comedy episode and sci fi concept too, showing how far the show had come that it wasn't simply Young Ones in space at this point, but a legit sci fi series too.
5/ Quarrantine
I love everything about this episode. From how creepy and hilarious doctor fruit loop is, to the others getting on each others nerves to Rimmers legendary break down. Might be Chris Barries best comedic performance to be honest.
4/ Epideme
This is possibly the best sci fi episode they did. Epideme is the single best villain of the show alongside the Inquisitore. Gary Martin gives him a wonderful, Joker like personality of being sadistic and cruel, but quite funny with it. There are some moments though like zombie attacking Lister that are genuinely frightening. This episode terrified me as much as any Buffy or Doctor Who growing up. I think it also shows why Kochanski wasn't as bad a replacement as people say. Yes Rimmer is the better character, but honestly this episode is given a lot of weight because it's her. Had it been Rimmer then he would have most likely joked and laughed at Listers predicament like Future Echoes.
3/ Despair Squid episode
Fabulous concept, brilliant performances from the leads as the other characters (with Jake Bullet being my fave. The way Kryten describes his character makes me unable to watch another cliched cop show about a rogue cop that does things his own way without thinking of his pen pushers in city hall speech LMFAO.)
2/ Queeg
Generally speaking I prefer the adventure, sci fi stories in Red Dwarf, but this is the exception. The guy playing Queeg is superb. Possibly the best comedic guest star they ever had. Obviously despite being an asshole he isn't a villain like Epideme or the Inquisitore so I can't compare them, but as a comedy character he more than holds his own with the others. The twist at the end is also the best. Even when you know it coming, if anything that makes it better, seeing Holly go through the sad goodbye haha.
1/ Gunmen of the Appocalypse
Lazy choice I know, but it really is that good. I love Rimmers attempts to chicken out of the fight when the AR skills vanish. Classic Doctor Smith moment there.

I liked Epideme when I watched it again as well. I've come to realize that Series 7 really wasn't as bad as I initially thought.
@series 10 episode title, it was called The Beginning.

@series 10 episode title, it was called The Beginning. Now listen here, maybe I'm the kind of guy that doesn't mind being corrected, or maybe I'm the kind of guy that gets all uptight about being corrected by whatever the kind of guy you are, clear! You seem like a pen pusher down at city hall to be honest. If you don't like my unorthodox posting style, you can swivel on this mid diget and squeal like pigs on a honeymoon.

I love Emohawk at the moment. The stuff with the GELFs is very funny and I love how atmospheric those night scenes at the village are.The second half of the episode is essentially just a condensed version of the Polymorph episode, but I still like it and it's nice to see Ace and Dwayne again!

I also love when Kryten says, "what would you say to a glass of drinking chocolate?" and she replies, "I'd say: Glass of drinking chocolate, get me out of here!" She was a great addition honestly.
