Rating the Hartnell stories

My favourite period of the show. The seasons with Ian and Barbara have an almost Jules Verne vibe to them, with an intellectual and grounded approach to time travel that somewhat diminished afterwards. Hartnell himself is my favourite Doctor - there's tons of layers to the performance, he develops as a person over time and can be both a figure of absolute authority and comic relief without losing any respect.

Always gone up and down on this era. Was my least fave as a kid, though fell in love with it in the 2010s. Have slightly struggled to get back into it the last few years, though I'm hoping the Blu rays may help turn that back around (to be fair, probably my attention span and real life stresses are more the problem than the era itself, though it's undeniably less accessible than later eras).
