What a classic! The only crap things about it are the fangs of the Primords. Didn't Doctor Who Adventures sell things like those with their magazines? Seriously though, it's an amazing serial. What strikes me about it is how chilling some of it is and how effective the stock music is in it. The idea of the world ending and there's literally nothing the Doctor can do about it is extremely dark and depressing. I love this disturbing exchange in particular:
"I don't exist in your world" "Then you won't feel the bullets when we shoot you"
Greg Sutton is awesome. He knows he's going to die and he could easily run away and spend the last few hours of his life doing something else, but he instead helps the Doctor get back to our world without a second thought. I hope the Greg of our world ended up with Sheila Dunn's character. They made for a nice couple honestly.
The story is easily the best of the Pertwee era and one of the three best stories of the 1970s. Oh, and this is the creepiest piece of music used in the show:

Yep. A contender for my all-time favourite story. Nothing rivals it in either intensity or atmosphere.
The sound design and dramatic heft are unmatched in Doctor Who, barring perhaps the reconstructed final episode of The Daleks' Master Plan.
