The bottom two are pretty poor in my opinion, but the top five are all brilliant. I used to prefer Season 21 but I think Season 20 is Davison's best season now.

20 is my fave Davo season, I still find it oddly underrated. Snakedance is much better than Kinda and the BG trilogy is tops. Then, of course, there's The Five Doctors. Even Tegan is slightly more bearable in season 20. Probably the 4th best season of the 80s actually.

It's my third favourite behind Season 25 and 26. My ranking of 80s seasons goes like this: 25, 26, 20, 24, 19, 21, 22, 18, 23.

I re-watched a bulk of S20 last year and found it's quickly shot up in my rankings from my least favourite Davison season to favourite. The dryness of Season 18 and 19 is more subdued and the stories themselves are more consistent than Season 21 with only one proper turkey in Termnius and an non event in Kings Demons but everything else ranges from enjoyable to great. Sutton and Fielding have improved and Turlough makes more of an impression than Adric.
As for ranking 80s seasons: 26, 22, 25, 20, 19, 18, 21, 24, 23

I really like Terminus. It's Arc that flops hard for me. Terminus is very well directed. I just find some of it a bit of a slog. Davison is good in it, though. |
