Can't say I'm that surprised at the two leading stories, but Destiny wid no votes? Izzit cos of Boney M?
The Mutants wid da main man "Stubbsy mon" Cotton, Revenge of the Cybermen wid da black Cyberleader and now Destiny of the Daleks wid Boney M an' ALL with ZERO votes.

Just went for the first three. Not a bad season, but the Williams formula is beginning to falter at this point. Still City of Death is a brilliant last hurrah for the producer, and Destiny is a decent enough Dalek story that moves the Davros story arc on.

Destiny is the best. One of the most underrated adventures ever. I'm not sure it is underrated. Not being pedantic LOL, it's just that I think Destiny is better regarded than people might think. I've never seen it in a list of worst stories for instance, or be singled out as an absolute clunker from the Tom Baker era. (Even in that season it's never held up as the worst for instance.) The general consensus is that it's just a bit disappointing after Genesis, that Adams undermines the Daleks a bit and that Gooderson isn't as good as Wisher. Still it did introduce a lot of things that people love about the show. Romana 2, the Davros story arc (which could have easily ended with Genesis.) The Movellans who have gone on to be extremely popular in spin off material and were even given a cameo in the revival. I think Destiny is just overshadowed by the Dalek stories on either side that are all classics. |

City of Death and Shada are the obvious season highlights. I put Creature as my third option at the time- whether that still stands or not is something I'm unsure of (it was that or Destiny). Nimon is hilarious, but ultimately didn't get the vote, and I'm not big on Nightmare of Eden. It's too tonally imbalanced for my liking. However, it is fascinating for very much the same reason. It's one of the darkest central concepts for a Williams era story played akin to an absolute pisstake. I'm just unsure if it actually works...
That said, it's a season that gets too much hate, I'd say, even if this isn't my favourite era as it is for some. I think I prefer it to 15 and 16 overall. City and Shada are excellent to say the least.

Easy, really but I like all of Season 17,with Destiny being perhaps, the weakest of the lot.
